Can A Little Button Be the Key To Happy Endings?

Raised into a family of five adopted children, I understand the power of divine intervention and the purpose of family. There is nothing in this world that measures more in importance than a family’ssecurity and well-being. My brother has suffered moderate retardation and cerebral palsy all of his life. He possesses the kindest heart with the purest intentions of any person I know. Communication with strangers is very awkward and embarrassing for him. It’s heartbreaking to see his frustration through his clenched fists and closed eyes while he does his best.

ID BUTTON is designed to speak for those that cannot speak for themselves

We admire parents and grandparents for their strength, wisdom and consistent loving way, but when Alzheimer’s enters the picture, the whole family is affected. My late mother suffered this disease for 9 years. I also understand the tug-of-war between memories and the disease.

ID BUTTON is designed to speak for those who no longer know what to say

Recently, I saw a two year old boy playing in the front of a house – and he seemed far too young to be isolated. I assumed a parent would appear but it didn’t happen – where were they? After 30 minutes, I joined a group of neighbors in a door-to-door search for his caregivers – only imagining their anguish. The police became involved and finally we located his mother, asleep from exhaustion after a day of two jobs. We had searched for any indication of the boy’s identity, and I had found myself looking for tags, bracelets…anything. The next day I created ID BUTTON.
